Hi,

the backlight can be fixed, you need a new EL film and inverter.
As for the keyboard, first check in the system menu if LOCAL option is
set to ON. Is it outputting MIDI? Is there sound if you send MIDI?

I could probably fix your synth, but I'm in Canada, and you probably
don't want to ship it here ;-)
