I have spoken with James Chandler the maker of Overtone, maybe 25 years ago. Brilliant man. I tried looking him up recently and found some information on the web about a James Chandler, but I am not quite sure if it is him or not. There were some recordings by a James Chandler that were really very good, sort of Jazz/Funk style. I sent James Chandler an e-mail but never got a response back.

I did receive some of James Chandlers own synthesized sounds, and they were quite good, but I would really have to search high and low to see if they were even around still. There are some sounds on the K5 I still like better than the K5000, Shimmering is one of them. I also have seen some recreations of the K5 sounds to the K5000, but I didn’t think they really captured it well.

I have the K5 and K5m, but I have to replace the LCD on the K5m. I see a resurgence of the K5 recently on eBay. They are starting to sell at higher price now. You could get them quite cheaply 3-5 years ago.
