Hi Tom,

for creating your own GE's, you need the KARMA software.
Do not expect too much concerning MIDI file upload, as
GE's usually consist of a quite limited note series.

AFAIK, it is quite complicated (at least for me) to create new
GE's. From my point of view, it is likely that you play around with
the existing GE's. (for months ... years ???)

Maybe, you have the idea of GE's being something like a
sequencer thingie or the like, but they aren't.

For me, it does not make sense to import a multi track 
MIDI file to GE's, because the different tracks usually
play different instruments / programs whereas a single
GE can "play" only one program or combination
(of programs).
