Thanks for the info. I wish I had $800 on me. LOL but it sounds like
something to work toward. I appreciate the reply.
What kind of comments does anyone have about expansion boards? Such as 
EXB-PCM 06/07 Orchestral Collection or  EXB-PCM08 Concert Grand Piano? Are
they worth the money? Can similar results be obtained with things like Eric
s offers or is it new samples on the boards that make buying the board
necessary for the new sounds?

  I've had my KARMA just a couple months.  I definately can understand the
frustration with the Sequencer mode.  I'm getting better at it BUT, If you
re looking for something to replace the recording device you had, I'd highly
recommend the (KORG!!) DMX 1200MKii with CD burner.  This little (only) $800
puppy is a multi track recorder/mixer/burner and you can easily line in a
guitar and mics.  It stores everything when you shut it off.  You can mute
parts of combos from the KARMA and record only the parts you want.
  I appreciated Eric's response as well because I need to start saving my
own edits of factory programs into an empty bank (if I have one : ).  I find
it easy to tweek the factory stuff and plop in different programs in the
existing combis then hit rec/write and F8/OK.  This will save over the
factory program through power off.  There's a handy function in Global where
you can tell the synth to power up on the same program you were working on.
  I agree that when it comes to the actual programming of the sounds, my
JD800 is much more tempting.  I haven't ventured that direction in the KARMA
but find the factory sounds suitable for live performance/you've essentially
got a Triton at your fingertips (you'd just have to turn KARMA off and
rec/write + F8 to keep it off before going on stage : ).  There is an
expansion board of only piano/organ type sounds and one with essential real
instrument sounds, I think.  These load in the empty banks so they don't
overwrite the factory banks and stay put on power off - some are KARMAfied
and have great demo songs that have to be loaded from disk after power up. 
I would imagine Eric's programs could also be loaded to the empty banks.

Okay, that was my main question.. or rather questions. The following is more
of a vent than anything else I guess.

I also am finding the karma quite difficult to create songs on. Actually I
have never been able to and have given up trying. I used to have a VFX-SD
and I could record songs very easily on it. Push the button marked Track 1
(or 2 or..), push record, and play. Also whatever you were working on was
always there when you turned it back on. The karma loses everything you were
doing when the power goes off. It can keep the sounds in the banks so why
couldn't it keep the songs you are working on too? I bought the Karma
because the combi effects, runs, whatever were so cool. But I'm not a lounge
lizard so I can't use them when playing with others. What I need/want out of
a keyboard are to be able to add a sound (violin, breathy, organ, etc) when
playing in a group and to create multi track songs in my spare time. Perhaps
the Karma isn't the right tool for this? Anyone have any helpful feedback?
