Hi Robb,
  If you are in the States, you can pick up EXB expansions for $99 
US.  As far as I'm concerned the best one of the lot is EXB09 Trance 
Attack.  It comes with really great synths, basses, drum kits 
arranged in 256 double banks of programs. This board can be used for 
much more than trance type music.  And to top it off it has been 
Karmafied - programmed with GE assignments.  The ones you mentioned 
are not Karmafied - no arps, no GEs, no KARMA happening, just sounds.

The next really great EXB is MOSS (Multi Oscillator Synthesis 
System).  It is rather expensive, but it puts a fully programmable 
synthesizer into the Karma, albeit with only 6 voices.  However, 
those 6 voices can be dropped into any combination for some really 
unusual or acoustic sounds.  The programs are fully programmable.  
This EXB is not for the faint of heart.

As for combi collections or other 3rd party sets, one of my clients 
said it nicely, "It's like getting a new synth, only a hell of a lot
