I'm going to assume you're using the Karma as a standalone i.e. it is
not connected to a computer sequencing setup.
Press Global, then Menu. Then press the button under MIDI (F2), then
the one under Open (F8). Now, using the arrow buttons, cursor down to
MIDI Clock and change it from Ext to Int or Auto using the Inc/Dec
buttons. Now press Utility to bring up its menu and choose Write Global
Settings to save this change into the onboard Global memory so you
won't have to go through this routine every time you turn on the Karma.
I'm guessing the guy you bought it from had it set up to take MIDI
clock from his computer sequencer.
