not true. it's 200,000 **EVENTS**. not notes. an event is a 
controller, or a pitch bend value, or a note, or aftertouch 
recording, etc.. when you've got a karma combi generating all 
sorts of controller moves going all over the place, and panning, 
and a lot of extra notes that you didn't play, it very definitely 
becomes an issue. still not much to worry about imo, but it's not 
the complete non-issue you say it is. karma combis eat a lot 
more memory than simply recording yourself playing on the 
piano.

if you read stephen kay's karma faq document, there is some 
info about this in the sequencer section on how to optimize 
memory use.
