One simple way is to change the time signature right from the 
display.  Scroll over to the current time sig (GE/TS or 2/4 or 4/4 
etc.) till it hi-lites, then edit using the inc/dec keys or dial wheel 
to select the time sig of your choice and voila.  Now, be aware that 
the results may not be satisfying to your ears, but it will alter the 
meter.  If you do like it, save/write the edited combi to an empty 
space in C, D, or F (if you don't have anything in there.).
