I'm glad it was helpful.  I have some past MIDI experience which has helped
in linking the thing to Cakewalk and doing some of the sequencing, but if
you read the manual(s) and check out the boards over at
http://karma-lab.com/forum/ it's possible to create music right out of the
gate.  Some of my previous podcasts, I've even played parts from my 'first
hour' with the Karma.  Not top-notch stuff, but pretty darn cool.

plus some add-ons.....I'm think about the Triton-Karma software
but I haven't got a decent computer yet......might take the plunge....

I'm not sure which relative you're talking about because there are a few
things mentioned on my web site.  If you're refering to the mention in the
podcast I referenced, my mother in law had a minor stroke.  She is still
with us, just got out of the hospital yesterday, but there is a big snafu
about what kind of rehab she needs and will get and how it will be paid for.
So it's a good outcome, but still a stressful situation for my wife's family
(and by extension, me).
