Hello (nice handle!):
I'm a newbie to customizing the drum kits but I can't wait to try some of the advice given. I think MAWD's is the most straigt forward. Altering the program is always an option, but if it is used in other Combi's, they would be altered too as I understand it.
Another option (so many, many ways to skin this Maroon Monster!) would be to: Hit MENU, hit the F3 three times to get to Key Zones, then hit Open. Cursor over to the drum kit and then play with the top & bottom zones with the data wheel (a really cool led bar on the top of the read out tells you where you're at). If you're lucky, the slap you are trying to take out of the mix is at the high or low end and would then not be activated. Worst case (love having a mixer to tame my monster), you can zone out what you don't want and do the drums in several tracks (even zoning them down to just one drum at a time : ).

As a songwriter and producer of soundtracks for small scale
instructional videos and corporate stuff, I find the Karma both
indespensible and VERY frustrating! I'm hoping someone can help me
with the current situation I'm battling with...

1 - Using standard Combi patch E042 (AfricanNostalgia), I came up with
something that a guitarist friend of mine wants to use as the rhythm
track for an instrumental song. NOTE: I'm playing the Karma real-time,
not using the sequencer.

2 - Attempting to break out the pieces of the performance into
individual tracks, I quickly found the Mixer tab and isolated all
parts to my multi-track recorder... Except for the drums.

3 - Looking a little further, I found the Realtime Controls that
adusted the Percussion and Kick/Snare levels. So far, so good... But
wait... It's lying to me! In there with the Kick/Snare is a slappy
percussion part I'm unable to mute.

This is where I get hopelessly lost. When I go into the B036 "Standard
Kit 2" drum Prog settings I can't find the individual mix
level/routing controls for the drumkit and its associated percussion.

HELP! I tried surfing the manual, but it seems to be 295 pages of
everything but what I'm looking for.

So, to rephrase the situation, I'm looking for a way to isolate
individual drum and percussion sounds during Karma Combi playback.

Any assistance/direction would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
