I try not to post here, although I do keep an eye out occasionally, 
because I just don't have time to be in 10 places, and I 
personally prefer forum-based sites, which is why I have Karma 
Lab (www.karma-lab.com/forum), and why I spend some time 
over at www.karmaforums.com also (Irish Acts). But anyway, let 
me clarify a bit more...

Again, there are 2 scenes. 

In the Karma, we had 8 knobs and 2 switches for 10 real-time 
controls. Why switches? Some parameters in KARMA are 
suitable for continuous control (i.e. Velocity Accents, where you 
are continuously varying the value, hence a knob is good), and 
some parameters are suitable for switches (where it's an off/on 
thing, or an either/or thing - example: Note Type, where it might 
be Regular vs. Scalic) - that's why there are switches. In the 
OASYS, we took this concept farther and added 6 more switches 
to the scene, so there are a logical grouping of 8 sliders and 8 
switches over them (16 RealTime Controls, all part of a "scene").

So, of course you can vary these two switches as part of 
improvising and jamming, but what you are doing is the same 
thing as twisting a knob - you are varying a parameter's value 
within the currently selected scene.
