Hey Chris,
Interesting input. I posted the Yogi Berra take on jazz to add
some humour to our group...Haven't read any good music jokes in here
for quite some time. I guess that's one reason KLF is a more
comprehensive site than this having its own thread for jokes (among
the variety of other forums over there).
Anyway, I find there are quite a number of good musicians both
down here in Florida and back home in SouthWestern Ontario who head
out to or host jams and play for nothing. And I know of soloists or
groups who play for tips only. The union just can't do anything
about it because the owners don't care if the union black lists
them. There are enough starving and part time musicians who will
accept their terms. It's a shame, but that's where it is these days.
As for the Karma and jazz it can work nicely, but it involves
some dedicated programming to taylor your own sound. The better tool
is most definitely the OASYS with it's vastly improved KARMA 2 and
myriad realtime controls for variation and change ups.
Can ya dig, so hit me up on the downside, and we can be flammin' on
the jimjam....
Cheers,
Eric
