Karma's EG's and moss osc wave shaping questions.

I am puzzled somewhat by the stock Karma's and the moss board's envelope
generator shapes..as you program them the values in the display show as
linear lines..so they are in fact linear and not exponential curves like
most vintage analog synths were is that correct?
The moss board standard vco wave shape tabs/menus..this function has me
baffled...by setting them to 'resonant' and playing with the settings i
can clearly hear the effect on the sound of that osc..but when i switch
to 'clip' no matter how i set the settings i hear no difference!?
By the sound changes heard in resonant mode obviously the effect is
somewhat like a resonant filter..but what is the clip mode supposed to
do to the osc waves and what should it sound like?
Is there anywhere on the web a better explaination of the above than in
the manual and or a tuturial on how to use this waveshaping? Please
furnish the link..
BTW have any of you even bothered to do any moss board programming
using those mysterious osc modes, vpm, sync. crossmodulation ect,
besides the standard, organ, and e piano ect easy to grasp modes?
IMHO these wierd modes are usefull for nothing more than endless
horrible power tool noise generation!
If only Korg had instead of them given the moss a couple more standard
oscs and standard oscs with standard soft/hard osc sync for all oscs!
As you may surmise, I spend much of my time haplessly failing away at
programming minimoog style sounds via the moss board, so far with
little success..
Oh Great Maestro Eric Sawyer..no doubt you are as you read my
confession of ineptitude doubled over with laughter! I am proud to have
entertained you for the day..ha!
