HI
This is not directly related to Karma, the system I also enjoy but it
is a comment on another keyboard. I really enjoy synthesized sounds
but I have to say I am enamored by organ sounds and the Hammond sound
stands at the apex of that focus. I had hoped my Karma would resolve
this passion after getting the small patch on stand alone Midi
systems that are made but alas nothing seems to compared to the real
sound except for the Nord keyboard I just got. Whoa baby! This
keyboard has it nailed down. I mean I feel like I am playing a
Hammond B3 and it is fully adjustable. It also mimics the calvinet,
the Wurly Electric piano, a fairly good piano and two versions of
electric pianos and has modulations that are also very good such as
various wah wah effects, ringmod, various phasers and franger. Plus
it allows one to equalize and has a very good or appears true to form
Leslie sound. Another aside is that the Clavinet is designed to sound
like it is mic-ed in various parts of the Clavinet as it is on the
actual original instrument. I suppose it is all good sampling but let
me say, it is right on sampling and that is why I am so thrilled with
it. I got the 72 key version and have used it with a second midi
keyboard for two registers. It has a split keyboard process which is
very nice for using just that keyboard and allows one to set the
second register and it is lite. Sadly as I am also an accordionist,
and I can only afford one keyboard on stage, my Karma has stayed home
on gigs as the two are too much for a stage. If you have not tried
Nord and like the Hammond sound, give it a look. There is also a
rack mount version of it. I had considered making my Accordion Midi
capable and using it as the keyboard for this, whereupon any synth or
sound instrument would be accessible from it, and the rack mount
might have given me more space on stage. My band is pretty large at
times. I have yet to find a good version of this sound on any synth.
