The other way to go is with an actual Yamaha SY-77 (keyboard) or TG-77 (module).....I sold my SY-77 about a year ago for $300USD and they are going for less sometimes on Ebay....I bought a TG-77 for $125USD and they are currently between $150 and $250USD on Ebay....and as you know (to keep on-topic), these modules can be triggered by the Karma for some great FM & bell/ring type sounds.....

  Greetings all,
I realize purchasing Korg's flagship OASYS is not on the radar for
many folks here, nevertheless, Korg's VPM expansion EXi for OASYS
called MOD-7 can handle all DX7 files and more. This EXi is miles
beyond any FM synthesis. Here is a link to KLF's blurb on it
  http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10269

Next, save yourself the bother of getting an extra red Karma. That
would be a bit redundant. You far better strategy would be to sell
your maroon monster and get an M3 or keep your Karma and get the M3-M
module. The KARMA 2 technology on board is the same as in the
powerful OASYS. Also, the real time controls on all M3s (module
included) can match up with the OASYS version as well. Where the M3
and OASYS differ relates to all the extra programs, IFX (12 vs 5),
and the expansion potential of the OASYS.

  Hope that helps.
  Cheers,
  Eric

Even the "FM" type modulations on the Radias (and on the -- ehem --
Virus TIs) don't truly do the same thing as I understand it.
