Hello! I'm new to the group. I have a K2000R that's worked great for some time. I recently purchased the ROM-1 Orchestral and ROM-2 Contemporary expansion boards, along with the daughterboard, since installing them have garbled sounding programs and mixed up sound samples (trombone sounds like timpani, for example), and this is affecting all program areas (1-199, 600-699, 700-799. 800-899, 900-999).
I have a Janis variant with OS v3.54J. I put in the K2000 VX v5 setup EPROMs, as were recommended, and toggled the J7 pin bridge, but was told the OS v3.54J I already had would be ok (did not need OS v3.78J for the expansion ROMs). I do not have the P/RAM expansion board.
All of the programs text displays correctly, but there are issues with program sounds all across the board. When I remove the daughterboard, programs 1-199 sound correct with the K2000 VX v5 setup EPROMs left in.
I am trying to decide if I should get the OS v3.78J EPROMs to see if that fixes the issue or if there is something wrong with the daughterboard and/or Expansion ROMs.
