Or you could run the dram/pram test in diagnostic which would totally wipe the battery backed sram. Then on restart, it would be re-loaded.

I had already tried the hard reset without any luck and the diagnostics did not turn up any errors..
What finally worked was some advice I found in an earlier Kurzweil thread about waiting at least 30 minutes after removing the RAM batteries. I had changed them, but did not wait before putting new ones in. I guess that extra time is needed to fully clear the RAM and reset DSP.
It’s all working great now! :)

You might want to reset the K2000 to the factory defaults first. Follow the steps Roger gave you, but choose "Hard Reset" instead of "Diagnostics". If the reset doesn't fix the problem, the diagnostics might give you an idea of what's wrong.
