K2500 help & advice

Hi everyone.  So I have a k2500 with the Blue Screen of Death.  To combat that I bought another k2500.  This one powers up and loads.  However it's  been several years since I last used mine so I'm unsure of this new one’s overall condition.  The person I bought it from says it works fine, however it is missing a side panel which leads me to believe that somewhere in its past there may have been something wrong with it and the case was removed for repair.What should I look for as it boots up?Right it now when it boots up it shows:“Initializing memory.  Pleas wait…..K 2500. V3.02“Initializing all memory, Please wait …Initializing effect (then it goes Thu all the effect numbers)After these 2 sequences it displays correctlyIt also appears that the sliders may not be working.  I’m not sure about that just yet.  I powered the unit up the day I picked it up.  It worked but since then I haven't done anything to it other than powering it up.  Tonight I plan on plugging it into an amp and see what it's got.Any suggestion and guidance is greatly appreciated.  I don’t want anything to happen to this one.Thanks,Don…..Sent from my Galaxy Tab® S2
