Maybe someone has the answer to this question. The floppy drive in the K2500R I’m trying to resurrect has stopped working. I t does not light up on start up and fails all diagnostics. I pulled the drive after smelling some electrical burning odor. The solder joints on the power input are discolored and smell burnt. The power cable for the floppy drive goes to the HDD power socket on the audio board. There are only 3 wires on the 4 prong connector. 1 red and 2 black. the red is on pin 1 but it’s voltage is 12volts DC. By the schematics the red should be 5 volts DC. There is no yellow wire which is normally pin 4 and 12 volts DC. So my question is this correct. Does this floppy drive kick 12volts down internally for other functions and just use one 12volt input. I’ve ordered a replacement drive but I’m concerned that I might fry it if the input voltages are incorrect. The FDD is a Sony MPF920-1. Everything I’ve read on the floppies say that they required 2 voltage inputs one at 5v DC and one at 12v DC.
