Hi, I tried installing a classic keys rom into my Kurzweil PC2R. It does not load.
It has 4.01 OS and the latest bootblock. Orchestral Rom was installed and everything worked before. I removed the Orchestral rom, now it won't load that either.Diagnostics says RomTest fail (i). Read-write passes when running individually but sometimes fails when running the mode which runs several tests in a row.When installed both EXP1 and EXP2 show as yes In global mode..PCX1rom, PCX1rw PCX1ram tests do not seem to appear in diagnostics.
Do you have any suggestions for how to resolve the problems

If you go to Kurzweil.com, then products, lower left legacy products, then PC1se, then downloads, you will see how to install classic keys. Note that no mention off Orch rom install.
As I recall, there was only one slot for expansion. I believe that thw orch rom was in the base roms and soldered to the engi,e board.
But it has been years. Also contact Jean B via the support info request. I believe he will help you. Tell him Cleaner 1 suggested you ask.

Thanks Roger, the technician who has the PC1se has already opened the case.. He sent me a pic of the classic keys rom, but not yet of the orchestral. Would both roms be next to each other as in the PC2R?

As I recall, it is on the main engine board, I don't recall if there was a small removeable panel on tbe bottom or not that allowed easy Insta or removal. If not, you separate the halves. I checked if there was a YouTube on opening, none found, but all case open basically the same.

Yes. Just remove associate programs in RAM, easiest is just run ram test or hard reset.
