Personally I think it's a good time to quit Yahoo Groups. This list does not actually have list administrators, who apparently disappeared years ago. Every once in a while that matters, like when a few accounts started spamming but no admin could remove them. Moving to a new group platform would solve that problem. And I personally would like to quit Yahoo anyway. It's a sham, owned by Verizon, which handled this transition very poorly: just "Yahoo is deleting your community's years of content, and we're being vague about the dates and exactly when anything specific is happening". It's a terrible platform, and Yahoo/Verizon doesn't deserve whatever exploitation of us it's getting from offering us the free service. Handling the change the way Yahoo did I fully expect it will just drop the list entirely at any time now, probably without warning, really screwing up the community. So now is a good time to do something we'd be better off doing anyway. Especially once people want to share files or do some other thing that isn't stuck in the 1990s like "Yahoo!" is. Moving now is a clean break.
