Can't comment on most of your questions, but
that price and with those add-ons, it really is
a pretty incredible deal. I spent about the
same to get a used PC3 plus a ribbon.
I'd rather have a new PC3K than the PC3 I have,
but I can't complain. I've got toys, they all work.

ike it is the spiritual successor to my old k2500, with a huge number of im=
provements. It doesn=E2=80=99t have a sampler option, but I really only see=
myself sampling on the PC going forward. Since I am just a home recording=
enthusiast and occasionally play with friends, I really can=E2=80=99t just=
ify the cost of the Forte. Because I use Cubase I also have been looking a=
t Yamaha, but the Montage is also $3500 and the MODX looks great at $1500, =
but has limitations and is missing after touch (which I=E2=80=99d hate to l=
ose). I=E2=80=99d really appreciate some feedback from this group on this =
deal, especially concerning the following:

fy more than 1500-2000 for a hardware synth. Other than better integration=
with a DAW/soft synths and FM sounds, on paper the PC3K7 still looks like =

that can comment on the sounds and compare the two synths?
