Re: ZTAR USERS???

Hi James..  I have never heard of anything like the problem you state, of the TCA? being ground away.  Harvey or his staff would never do anything like that at the Starr Labs factory. His / their / work is immaculate and very professional.
 
 It sounds as you say, as if the previous owner or someone has used a dremel tool or something to grind at the TCA (why, I do not know) but there are a lot of idiots out there who mess around with expensive instruments for some reason, (and generally destroy them)
 
 1) As for the tuning, if you want to write a single patch in a selected tuning,  then I would just transpose the 'strings' (ie.  keys) in the zone/ or zones  you want  in your alternate tuning,  to suit, and then store that patch.   I have experimented with Nashville tuning doing this.
 
 2)  If you want multiple patches with the same alternative tuning, then you can always copy the patch to another location (using the librarian) and then change the names and the voices and save again.)
 
 3) Another method is to set up a menu in the 'tunings' section to your altered tuning and store that. (I think there is already a 6-string bass patch there already,  but have never used it) If you don't use the preset and set up a tuning manually, then you can enter that tuning with any 'kit' (preselected midi multi-patch) and the Ztar will always be in that tuning..(I think, although I have never done this, because I play in two-handed tapping mode in eadgbe all the time.)

 For me, the Ztar has so many setup options, and the playing style possibilities are so great,  that finding two people who play in the same styles and who setup their Ztars in the same ways, is nearly impossible, but I hope to have been of some small help.

 As an aside, I just got a Keith McMillen Quneo for Xmas, and hope to work that into my Ztar setups. It seems very powerful, and for example the instant and illuminated volume offsets (as a very basic Ztar 101 option)  seem great and easily useable.  
  I have yet to program anything properly on the Quneo, but have made a New Year's resolution to certainly get around to doing so (but where does all the time come from??  :-)
