I'm reading your post with EXTREME interest. I'm a - what we players
call - multistring guitarist. My main player is a Yepes style 10 string
that I've converted to 11 strings. I've been trying for years to put
together a midi version of that guitar. I've put two Yamaha EZ's
together and used midi solution conversion hardware for the low 5
strings. I've also tried two You Rock guitars with better success but
I've never come up with anything that just feels right to play. My
latest effort involves a cheap Yamaha 3/4 size classical with 5 added
strings and a bridge made from 2
LR Baggs T-Bridge Acoustic Tune-O-Matic Bridge Pickups, dissected and
implanted into a mahogany bridge made, of course, of two separate
bridges with the ends cut off. That will run into my existing Roland
hardware.
Bt the way, the Yamaha EZ is extremely tap friendly.
