i always thought it is the same concept. but implemented with different (more optimized) algorithms on a faster chip. this basically means less false triggering and more robust tracking when you don't play super clean. but the latency audio to midi should be the "same" on axon and tripleplay since it uses the same ideas to track notes.

maybe that's all wrong :) but i remember it this way
