I have been using the Triple Play for almost a year now and although it works well with the included software it works just fine connecting to synth modules. To do this you will need the Kenton USB MIDI HOST box recommended in the manual. The Kenton USB MIDI HOST box has a USB port and a 5 pin midi connector. You just plug the Triple Play USB stick into the Kenton box and patch a midi cable to your midi module. In my case I have it connected to a Yamaha Motif rack. I think the tracking is pretty good. Fishman is close to releasing the FC-1 controller which would eliminate the need for the USB MIDI HOST box and provide some patch switching capabilities and many other features from a floor box type switcher.
