Hi Peter,
The image links still work. Good luck with your project.
Thanks,
Ken

Subject: Re: [midiguitar] Re: Don't know who's still left here, but..
G'day guys,
I've had a midi bass project on the back-burner for ages. I took the major components with me nearly 3 yrs ago when my wife & I moved from Oz to Dubuque, IA, & middle of last year it almost came together. But 12 mths ago things took a turn south & we found ourselves back in Oz, everything disassembled & haven't managed to resurrect the project. Yet! Life happens...
Intended rig description follows - I've copied a post from another forum, but I've no idea if those links will work. These pics are from about 15mths ago & as of now it's all still in pieces :-(
Why? Basically from a long-held desire to add cello into the church worship setting. I was only just getting into bass back in the late 70s while in HS, & an opportunity to go to an ELO concert up in Sydney got me hooked on the whole cello vibe. I also eventually decided that attempting the synth route (via pitch-to-MIDI) was worth a shot, & considerably more affordable than a decent cello. It wasn't until about 8 years ago that I obtained a Roland XV-2020 half-rack synth & a Sonuus B2M as a means to test the theory. I liked the sound and the rest of the capabilities that controlling a synth opened up (synth & MIDI being a new world for me then). So began the hunt for an Axon AX-100 MkII and the project has taken on a life of its own. The pics below show where it's currently at.

Godin A5 Ultra SA (defreted) into the Axon AX-100 MkII, 6U rack, Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller and a switch bay.

6U Gator rack contains (bottom up, which is essentially the processing order):
Axon AX-100 MkII MIDI Converter
Boss VF-1 Effects
Roland XV-2020 Synth
Sonic Research ST-200 Turbo Tuner
Alesis M-EQ230 Stereo EQ
Ampeg PF-500 (very recently acquired)

From behind it's a bit of a rat's nest as I've just been making up a lot of my own MIDI patch leads & finding homes for all the interconnectors. From bottom left to top right:
Power board & adapters
Rolls 41B Passive 4CH Mixer
Disaster Area GHost USB-MIDI Converter
SaturnWorks 2CH Passive Mixer (behind ^)
MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru (under PF-500)
MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge
Rack end of the switch box
MIDI Solutions Event Processor Plus
I can also plug a USB-powered MIDI keyboard into the GHost
