My concern would be to make it work for all the divers platforms, although it's true that ffmpeg is very much multi-platform. My approach with mp4/aac was to make it fully internal to LMS as you know, now I'm not sure it's scalable and more CPU efficient. Between @bpa and myself, I think we have a lot of the hls/dash/mpd/mpeg-ts and mp4/aac/adts unwrapping code but the approach is absolutely up for debate. LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3.
