[sigh] being `thick` means that you are stubborn or otherwise stated that you have an impenetrable barrier shielding your brain from things you really should learn. As for showing respect, that is pretty laughable coming from you after the way you presented yourself and I find no reason that I should accept your abuse. And yes I do realize that you don't want to hear that you are not understanding the basics, but I will still explain it to you once more: A URI (say: you-are-eye, or as an acronym: Yuri) is a standard for describing how a resource can be accessed by an application. The URI standard defines a format consisting of the protocol to use, a path towards the resource, a method for specifying optional parameters to the resource, and an encoding method for characters that cause issues either with the URI standard itself or the protocol used. What URI does *NOT* define is which characters need to be encoded as this is protocol specific. This is where you allowed yourself to become misguided, because i your application you reference a library that specifically targets the HTTP protocol and creates a special version of a URI that is known as a URL which in effect does not reference a resource you can open directly but a link to where you can download the resource (hence the 'L' instead of an 'I') and then open what is now a local copy. The list you create however does not consist of HTTP links but are references to the local file system as indicated by the file:// protocol prefix in the URI. In other words: you are using the wrong library, period. Now can you say thank you? Try it for once, it will get you further than that foul mouth of yours. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gordonb3's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115875
