It's hard for me to say because I am not a power user by any means. I
really don't have allot of apps, even on my "primary tablet" (Fire HD8
Gen 10 I think) - LMS, weather, browser, email client, shopping apps
like ebay, etc.

I bought these older refurbs because I liked how the toolbox transformed
my amazon centric primary Fire HD10 and 8 tablets into a "looks like"
stock android, the refurbs were inexpensive, and I had an idea to have
them laying around in listening areas with material. I also setup and
gave one to a non technical friend who I had setup with a touch and pcp
so he didn't have to find his glasses and touch the touch screen to do
anything :). For $20 and a bit of time, it's easy to gift them.

I have bought 4 so far and they have all come in in perfect shape.

Back to your question - I think I can sense a tiny bit of sluggishness
to the older ones. I don't game, but I am sure performance would be
apparent. I use them primarily for a Material kiosk, but load a browser,
weather, etc. I also have SB Player loaded, so if I want to listen on
earbuds, or any bluetooth device, I can just grab one.

I think the point of my grabbing a few and my original post is this - 8"
tablet for $20USD, 10" for $35, and the fire toolbox transforms them
from an advertisement machine into a functional tablet. Also, I like to
tinker. I certainly would not have $100+ tablets laying around in rooms
I have my sb players :)

@SJ if you really want to get some more precise feedback, register at
the fire toolbox forums and ask. They have two main forum members who
respond promptly and considerately (just like here). I have learned alot
(like sideloading apps), but those guys know all the ins and outs of the
various generations. They are constantly working on routing around the
roadblocks that the tablet manufacturer puts up to thwart them :)
