I've posted about similar things before, and was going to post on the relevant thread on the Hardware forum, but couldn't find it. So here goes. In the past I've posted about an odd situation where LMS lost the library during a long power out, which could be corrected through a full rescan. Today we had a short power out, less than two hours. The UPS that drives the PCP (and the docked drive and the router) had plenty of juice for this period of time, and hadn't gotten close to running out when the power came back. Literally EVERYTHING is plugged into the UPS, including the "radio", which is what my internet supplier calls the device between the dish on the roof and the router. The internet was never down. So, after the power was out I once again lost the PCP system. This time I not only lost the library, but also the Samba connection. It took two tries unplugging the PCP and replugging for everything to again be working. It's possible that it's NOT related to the power situation, or that the transition from mains to battery power has some sort of bump that causes the problem. I've not noticed anything like that latter on my other devices which have their own similar UPSs. This mystifies me. In general, I had way fewer problems running a little Windows machine to do this task, and expected months of mindless musical usage with the PCP. Note that the Pi has a SD card for library purposes, that's not on the drive. We're in an area (only a few miles from the edge of Toronto) that gets frequent power outages. I'd prefer not to always be resetting the Pi and its functions. Any idea what I can do? R.
