Quite plausible. Squeezeplay will buffer up to 3 million bytes of audio
data when fetching from LMS (actually 3 x 1024 x 1024). Multiply that by
8 for the number of bits.

My ALAC files come in the range 800,000 to 900,000 bits per second, or
thereabouts. So that 3 million byte buffer represents about 28 to 32
seconds of ALAC audio. Which is in the same ballpark as the timing you
have noted.

So, it’s quite possible that what you are experiencing is the audio data
just being drained off when Ethernet “goes away”.
