I use a USB flash drive for my Arlo camera system to store videos
locally. It is a Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB. It works fine for about a year,
then it will go into write protect (?) mode, which is a state that you
can read from it but can no longer write to it. SanDisk has replaced
two of them under warranty. My guess there is a limited number of write
cycles and the Arlo system is doing something with a lot of writes. I
have posted on the Arlo forum of the issue and I have gotten little
response. Upon its recent failure, I switched to a different model,
SanDisk Ultra. I will see if that lasts longer.

On another subject, the Arlo camera system is unreliable and customer
service is terrible, so I don't recommend it. I bought the Alro system
on sale and it took me a while to set it up, then the return period
expired.
