Apparently LWP doesn't include the HTTP Perl module. Out of curiosity, is there a better way to approach this? Otherwise, we're going to end up with a hefty chunk of the real CPAN as part of the distribution...not an ideal situation. The whole idea of CPAN is that you don't have to worry about these dependencies. It's also the idea behind the BSD ports tree. Which is why I use both, instead of building Perl modules manually. I can understand the need for those non-*nix users, but as a convenience-enhancer, it's minor at best. The entire process on a non-*nix system (performed by someone who wants to use the device, rather than learn systems administration or the finer points of Perl modules) is fairly opaque and somewhat frustrating, based on what I've seen. The downside is that I don't have a better solution to suggest, so this boils down to a pointless mini-rant. ;) Either way, it'll have to wait until I get around to it, and I may not have time for a few days. In the meantime, others are more than welcome to add the appropriate module to the CPAN directory of the repository. -- Mark C.
