Well, his code did do that, but my recent rewrite broke his code. 
I'm trying to fix it, and try to do it right.  :-)

I think that .pls and .m3u files are used both as "aliases" to 
icecast/shoutcast servers (which implies a single never-ending 
stream) as well as a list of songs to be played either locally or via 
http.  I use HTTP streaming of songs here from home all the time and 
use .m3u files as a way to construct playlists.

I've not really used .pls files yet, but I'm assuming that they are 
just a different (and perhaps richer) way of expressing the same 
stuff in an M3U file.

I'll try to make all the .pls files I come across work, and then 
we'll see if any new formats come along that don't.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for.  Can you give me 
maybe a more concrete example.  You can now create a m3u playlist 
 from the web interface by queuing up the songs you want in the 
playlist and then clicking on download.  But I think you are asking 
for a way to create a shout/icecast .pls file from a web page, is 
that right?
