Andrew,

Can you try using Windows 98 shortcuts again and give us more
details about the problem you are having?

It was working for Robert on his Win98 SE system.

directories?

Shortcuts seem to mostly work for me.
I tested both the web interface and

the Slim interface. I tried shortcuts to directories under the
Music root,

directories on the same drive but not under the Music root,
directories on

another drive in my system, and directories on a networked
computer.

Browsing through the shortcut works, backwards and forwards, including

going into genre/artist/album from track info and ascending all the
way

back to the root. Hitting play/rec on the shortcut (play/add to
playlist

from the web) works.

The only issues I see with shortcuts are:

Shortcuts to individual mp3s do not work from either interface.

Play/add to playlist (and play/rec) on the directory containing the

shortcut does not follow the shortcut to get its songs.

I would prefer not to see the .lnk from either interface (ie, trim the

extension from the TITLE in the info cache).

And might I add, I was newly creating these shortcuts, then refreshing
my

browser. The shortcuts immediately
showed up and worked.
