I originally set up my SliMP3 server on my main machine, a G4 Mac that I
also use for other tasks that occasionally require turning off the server
(like video editing DVD's).
Therefore I thought I would move my library to a Windows machine to use as
my music server. This would allow me to edit DVD's or rip CD's at the same
time as listening to my library. I copied my library to a second hard drive
and installed it in a Windows 98 SE machine with 233 P II and 128 MB RAM.
The install went fine but I would appreciate feedback on the following items
I don't have enough time to research until after the first of the year:

Problem - A library on the Mac that has over 5000 Rock genre songs shows
less than half that on the PC. I seem to remember that Win 98 had problems
with long names that was partly resolved with 98 SE. Is that the cause?

Q1 - Will playlists created with iTunes and then saved from the Mac server
be usable on the PC?

Q2 - Is there a size limit on an old PC like the one described above?

Q3 - Is there a PC application that can rip my remaining CD's that comes
close to iTunes on my G4?

Q4 - Would I be better off setting up a Linux box, even though it would
prevent me from occasionally running Win apps?

Q5 - Anybody have any experience with the SliMP3 server on a Lindows
machine?

Q6 - Any other suggestions for such a transition?

Q7 - Would I be better off just setting up another Mac to free up my video
editing machine?

Q last - How did I get by until I got my SliMP3?

Happy Holidays to all users and developers!
Thanx Again!
