this looks a lot like what I was thinking, using the plugin architecture
and the playlist selection. plus I thought of editable lists of alarms,
something like every day, every weekday and so on plus exceptions of the
above (like don't wake me up at 7am on a public holiday...). I hope I
can accomplish all of this since I'm not an expert perl programmer and
I'm still looking through the server code to see how things are
organized, but I will certainly give it a try

Subject: Re: [slimp3-dev] Alarm Clock

I was thinking about making one, but I'd love the help.

My plan was to write a Plugin module for it. It would work like this:

Navigate into Extras and see this:

-------------------------------
Extras
Alarm Clock                  ->
-------------------------------

Press right and see this:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
Set Time                     ->
-------------------------------

Press right again and see this:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock Time:
09:00 AM
-------------------------------

Use 0-9 buttons to enter the time (or up/down to change digits,
left/right to move left or right). Folks with 24H modes wouldn't see
or set AM/PM. Use the underline cursor to show where the cursor is.

When you are done, press left until you go back to:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
Set Time                     ->
-------------------------------

press down to see:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
Off (Press right to turn on.)
-------------------------------

Press right to see:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
On (Press right to turn off.)
-------------------------------

Press down to see:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
Choose Playlist              ->
-------------------------------

Press right to see:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock Playlist
<name of first playlist in saved playlists>
-------------------------------

Press UP/DOWN to choose a playlist, press LEFT to go back to:

-------------------------------
Alarm Clock
Choose Playlist              ->
-------------------------------

When that time comes up, start playing the specified playlist.
