Problem loosing web connection

Hi Dean

Just to let you know that since upgrading to the latest server/frimware
release the problem I was experienceing with a lose of connection to the web
interface has resolved itself.  So whatever you changed in the new software
(purposfully or not) seems to have done the job.  It was not the Linksys
router as I have not changed any settings on that.

I couldn't agree more.

I'm currently trying to focus the project on two things:

1.  Music playing
2.  Extensibility

SLIMP3 is first and foremost a device for music playback and it's my  
job to make sure that it does this in an easy to use and powerful way.   
Adding in features that dilute this experience for our customers is  
something we need to avoid.

That said, our customers have lots of great ideas for neat things to do  
with SLIMP3 and we should provide the tools to readily let them expand  
the feature set without affecting the core music capabilities.

To this end, the new plug-in architecture, the command-line interface  
and the HTTP interface are ways to provide the tools for #2 without  
affecting #1.

Sometimes it's hard to decide if a feature belongs in the SLIMP3 server  
itself or if it should be provided externally.  If a feature is useful  
to a substantial subset of our customers and doesn't make the product  
harder to user or more confusing then generally I feel OK about putting  
it in the main source.

Specifically about your password protection feature, I'd certainly  
consider it for inclusion in the main server if it didn't make it  
harder to set up and use, increased the security of the product and  
wasn't going to be a burden for us to maintain.
