Don't worry about MacOS 9, we aren't actively supporting it.  Unix and 
Win32 is fine.

I'm generally in favor of text comparisons being case insensitive, 
especially when it comes to file names in MacOS X and Win32 systems.  
Feel free to update it to be case insensitive.
