hiho, last monday dean applied a patch to cvs head, that allows use of moodlogic functionality from the comfort of your slimp3 interface (remote or web). moodlogic in a nutshell: a win32 jukebox'ish application that downloads toc (table of content) and metadata for your mp3 collection and enables browsing and instant mixing on top of that. (for more propaganda, visit http://www.moodlogic.com/) the patch added the following functionality (which can be turned on/off on the fly via preferences): - instead of using id3 tags for browsing, moodlogic's toc data is used (genre, artist and track title). - instant mix/playlist. if an instant mix is available (either on genre, artist or song level) a small 'm' is displayed in the right upper corner. keep the play button pressed to create an instant mix (which is an automatic playlist based on the item you selected) cons: - only runs under win32 - no album support (yet) there is nothing to configure as the patch "auto-detects" if moodlogic is installed or not. just make sure that your music folder corresponds to the music you added in moodlogic. the downloading part of moodlogic is governed by credits, that can be either bought or earned (by rating songs), which is a bit impractical for testing purposes here. therefore if you are interested in giving this patch a spin (and run slimp3 under win32), drop me an email and i will supply you with an account that has enough credits to accommodate your collection (this offer is limited and will be served on a first-come, first- serve basis). cheers, -gerald ------------------------ Yahoo!
