Agreed, that would be nice. It can get a little bit annoying if you
have

the player besides your television set and the displayed is not dimmed

enough. But that's really not a big issue
for me.

Use the CH+ and CH- buttons to adjust the brightness.
(There are two brightness settings actually, one for when it's on and
one for when it's off.)
