It's not as simple as just sticking a yellow RCA plug on there. Video is a completely different animal, with data rates more than 20X those of MP3 audio. This means completely different hardware for buffering, decoding, syncing video to audio, etc. > 2. would it be technically possible to add this as an upgrade to the > existing device? Not a chance, but it is feasible that much of our core architecture could be re-used in a video product. Also note that if we had video output, we'd almost certainly do away with any kind of display built in to the client. My perception is that the market for a Slim video client is extremely limited, unless we have a full PVR "head-end" to go with it. I.e. a tivoish box with RF tuner, MPEG encoder, hard disks, and 10/100 ethernet. While we do have the software talent needed to make this happen, we don't have the mega$$$ that it would take to develop the hardware. Even if we did, I don't think it's justified if you look at what people are willing to pay for these devices. Sean ------------------------ Yahoo!
