As the first person to purchase and receive the version 2
SLiMP3, let me first say that I love it! Great concept, and I’m glad the
designers went with the VFD instead of LCD. Looks very smart in the new case.

A few questions.

- When playing a ‘concept album’ with tracks
that run together, there is an audible ‘click’ as the tracks
change (Nobody uses index points anymore!). To be fair, I’ve heard
much worse from commercial CD players, but it is definitely there. I’m
not really familiar with the complexities of MP3 decoding but is there
anything that can be done to eliminate the click? You’ll never sell
any in Germany if you don’t… ;-)

- My MP3 library is on a Windows 2000 Server. My
temporary setup runs the server on a different machine (win XP) that
accesses the library as a network share. I’ve tried to get the
server to start up as a background service, using task scheduler on a XP
box. It works enough to wake up the SliMP3 but finds no files in the media
library. Anyone managed to make a similar setup work? Eventually I will migrate
the server onto my Win2K server and should be able to get it running using
srvany, so this is only a temporary problem.

- Is there any possibility at all of being able to stream
WMA files in the future?

Regards,

Tim Long.
