I'll volunteer for this, but with a counter-proposal.

Rather than pay for one player for one developer, how about
paying for case upgrades for each of the developers who have
contributed substantial code to this date.

Pick a dollar value and we'll figure out how much it will cost to
send each case, then divide and get a number of cases. Then the
top developers (as measured by contributed lines of code) each get a
case.

A nice thank you for the community and you get your feature.

And I think I'll get a case. :-)

p.s. If somebody REALLY wants to take this on for the free
player, speak up and I'll stand aside...

p.p.s. Can you point to a sample CD file for this to use in
testing?

Is the sourceforge 'latest version' page
not being kept up to date

for some reason? It still shows a latest version of 1.6 - I ask

because the www.slimdevices.com website links to the sourceforge site

and one might get the impression little work has been done on it

which is of course far from the truth.
