They don't have traces. That's another thing that was designed into the board layout "just in case", but never used. At one point I had thought about having a front panel with a keypad - it would have connected there. That connector is non-functional. There is also an unpopulated resistor, and pads for connecting the backlight of an LCD display. We went with the VFD, so those are unused. The indexing marks for the pick and place machine are called "fiducials". They're the bullseye patterns near the corners of the board. That's the revision - the boards were sent out on Halloween, 2001. What can I say, numbers are boring.
