spdif

Hi,

sorry I'm coming up with something thats already in the FAQ...

...but like some others who asked this before I would like to have a
spdif out on the slimp (my high-end dvd surround receiver has some
better DACs and a nice spdif in...).

As already written in the FAQ there is not enough space for a spdif
interface on the board - but why must it be onboard?

I want to suggest to add a simple 6-pin connector with the i2s
signal and power onto the slimp. the spdif chip with coax and maybe
even optical spdif output could then live in a small box outside the
slimp. you could sell this box ready-made as an addon.

this way noone has to solder around and could get a complete
solution for spdif out.

What do you think? Would it be possible to add this to the next
design update?

Thank you.

Regards,

Gerd
