David, Can you zip up and e-mail me one of your playlists? -dean if anyone has has difficulty in organising playlists, then the following point is something that took me a couple of hours to work out [dohh...] - make sure that your .m3u and .pls files are not located inside the folders with the tunes - the SlimP3 picks these up first and (on mine) cannot resolve them - i.e. the song names appear on the player, and you can fastforward through them (the tracks) as you would expect - but no sound! if you flick past the end of the playlist into the real tunes (no playlist pointer) then everything's fine. if you remove the playlist from the folder and 'play the folder' then this works. does anyone know of any instructions on how to store playlists on the SliMP3? david ----- Original Message ----- From: Sean Adams To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, February 18, 2002 3:49 AM Subject: [slimp3-users] News 2/17/02 New server software Release 2.0 of our server software is now available for download. This is the most substantial update we've released so far, and includes a slew of new features, including the ability to browse an index of ID3 tags as well as the hard disk structure. There are many improvement in the web interface, including localization, "skins", the ability to control multiple clients from a web browser, and dramatically improved performance when serving large playlists. The complete change log will be posted shortly. Interesting review David Fred has written a very detailed, technical review of the SliMP3, which he sent to a mailing list of home automation buffs. He concludes: ...It is clear that the people who designed the SliMP3 have a clue. They designed a product they wanted to use themselves, and those are invariably the best products... Please also read Sean's reply, and note that the RF interference has since been fixed - we are providing repairs free of charge to customers affected by this.
