I've come back to this device recently, and it looks like it could be a nice addition to my system. Currently I have a HTPC which is connected to my stereo for general PC use and DVD etc (based on an SV24 loaded with 1GHzPIII, 1GB, 80GB, DVD/CD-RW, with Logitech wireless inputs). I also have an Audrey appliance. Both require me to turn on living room projector to view computer screen to get to controls. There is still a free slot in the SV24, so a higher quality sound card is still a possibility, I just got a new Yamaha HT receiver which can now handle all the inputs from all my various computer and game systems. This also has a universal learning remote which has buttons for 12 devices. So the questions: 1. Audio quality - compared to the SV24's standard VIA AC'97 sound, I assume the SliMP3 is far superior to my current two computer sources? 2. I'd really prefer a complete case (cat hair) - is that going to be available soon? 3. Can it be controlled with my existing remote? Yamaha RAV-230 4. Optical outs - this is great for connecting the PS2 and XBox, but of course they are outputting encoded digital signals for 5.1, dts, etc, and regular analog stereo really doesn't need that extra convenience of less cables and digital integrity - but any hope for that? 5. Server - can the server run as a service on WinXP professional in case I'm not logged in on the HTPC. Normally I just lock the console, but... 6. Stability - I just read all the messages here - is the product stabilized? Thanks in advance, Cade To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: [email protected] Your use of Yahoo!
