Sorry, I hit send before I meant to.

Here's what I would use today if I was building a brand new server appliance:

It's a cute little aluminum cube (ok, not as little as the cerfcube), 
it's got a low power/low heat C3 processor, 128M of RAM.  Ready for a 
hard drive and maybe a floppy.  Add a CD-ROM drive to the mix for 
ripping...  Oh yeah, it's got two firewire ports if you want to 
expand hard drives easily...

Pretty nice deal.
